As the State Agency of Information and Communication (AIC) informed earlier, telephone numbers of referral services will be changed during period from March, 15th to June, 15th and telephone numbers of emergency services will be changed during period from January, 9th to March, 31st, 2009. The existing telephone numbers of referral services starting from zero (0ХX) will be replaced with the new telephone numbers starting from one (1XX).
Meanwhile, as it is stated in the press release of Kazakhtelecom Joint-Stock Compan spreaded on Friday, the city of Almaty will pass to new numbering in March. During the same time numbers of 09 referral service will also change in the territory of republic.
So, the centralised bureau of repair new telephone number will change from 065 to 165, the telephone number of long-distance and international call order service will change from 071 to 171.
A call to the paid information and reference service will be made by dialing 169. At present time, this service telephone number is 068 in a number of cities.
The old and new telephone numbers of referral and emergency services will be used parallelly during three months.
According to the press-service of Kazakhtelecom, there will be a replacement of telephone numbers of rescue and emergency services: 01 (it will be replaced by 101), 02 (102), 03 (103), 04 (104), 051 (112), and, also, the 09 service telephone number will be changed (to 118) in all cities of Kazakhstan, at the second stage of introduction of the new plan of a set, starting from March 15th, 2009. During the same time the telephone numbers of reference and information, order, rescue and emergency services of Almaty will be changed simultaneously.
Parallel operation of the old and the new telephone numbers of rescue and emergency services will continue until June 15th, 2009, then old numbers of emergency services will be made inoperative.
The press release explained: “This action is carried out with a view of bringing of the plan of numbering in conformity with the international standards, and for the purpose of execution of the Agreement on Use of Numbering of 7th Zone of the World Numbering concluded between Republic of Kazakhstan Agency of Information and Communication and the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of the Russian Federation”.
