Refinancing Rate of National Bank Is Decreased

Since January 1st, 2009 the refinancing rate in Kazakhstan will be lowered from 10,5 % to 10 %.

The National Bank message stated: “The Board of the National Bank of Republic Kazakhstan has decided to establish the official annual rate of refinancing at the level of 10 % from January, 1st, 2009 ” … “Considering, that refinancing loans of the National Bank are the basic source of replenishment of short-term liquidity of banks at the beginning of 2009, decrease in the official rate of refinancing to 10 % will be supporting and stabilising impact on bank sector since January, 1st, 2009″.
